What we collect
When you use ChargeDisha we collect the minimum needed to plan your trips and keep the community map honest:
- Account identifier — anonymous UID from Firebase Auth, or your Google profile when you sign in with Google.
- Your location — only when the app is in the foreground, only when you use the map, only to centre it on you and find chargers near you. We don't track you in the background.
- Check-ins and trip logs — what you publicly submit (charger status, kW, photos, SoC data). These are visible to the whole community by design.
- Your EV — the car you pick during onboarding, so the planner uses the right battery + efficiency numbers.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data. Ever.
- We don't ship third-party SDKs for ad tracking.
- We don't share your identity with any charging network.
Where it lives
Firestore (Google Cloud, asia-south1), Firebase Authentication, and Firebase App Check.
Analytics & crash reports
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used — which screens people visit, when check-ins happen, how many trips are logged. We do not collect advertising identifiers (Android's AD_ID permission is explicitly stripped from the app), we do not use analytics for ad targeting, and we do not sell or share analytics data with third parties. The data is aggregated — we see "500 drivers opened the Community tab today", not "Kartik opened it at 3pm".
We also use Firebase Crashlytics to catch app crashes so we can fix them. Crash reports include a stack trace, device model, and Android version — never your trip data or personal content.
Both can be disabled server-side at any time on request to chopcoding@gmail.com. In-app opt-out is on the roadmap.
Your rights
You can delete your account and all associated trip logs at any time from the in-app Account → Sign out → Delete menu, or by emailing chopcoding@gmail.com. Deletion is permanent within 7 days of request.
